These terms govern your use of the Trapped in the Web website (trappedintheweb.com) and your purchase and use of our online escape rooms. Please read them before buying. By using the site or buying a room, you agree to these terms.
Trapped in the Web is operated by Coysh Digital Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16868808 ("we", "our", "us"). You can contact us at help@trappedintheweb.com.
Last updated: 1 June 2026
We may update these terms from time to time - for example to reflect changes to our products, the law, or how the site works. The version in force is the one published here, and we will update the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. If a change materially affects rooms you have already bought, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
To buy a room you must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract with us. Our rooms are family-friendly and children are welcome to play, but any purchase must be made by an adult, and children should play with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
Each escape room is a digital product that you play in your web browser - there is no app or download. When you buy a room you get access to play it through your account, and you can replay it as often as you like. Rooms vary in difficulty and length; descriptions, images and indicative play times on the site are a guide and may differ slightly from your experience.
You are welcome to play with friends and family, including by sharing your screen over a video call across different households - this is a normal and encouraged way to enjoy the rooms. What you may not do is set out in section 9.
You are responsible for keeping your account login secure and for activity that happens under your account. Access to the rooms you have bought is provided through your account. We aim to keep the rooms you have purchased available to you on an ongoing basis. If we ever need to withdraw a room you have already bought (for example for legal or technical reasons), we will give you reasonable notice where we can.
Our rooms are priced as shown on the site, in pounds sterling. Prices may change from time to time, but changes will not affect rooms you have already paid for.
Payment is taken at the time of purchase by card or other supported method through our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full card details. By placing an order you confirm that the payment method is yours and that the information you give us is accurate.
We may refuse or cancel an order if we reasonably believe it is fraudulent, breaches these terms, or was placed in error (for example where a price was obviously wrong). If we cancel an order you have already paid for, we will refund you in full.
You can buy a room as a gift. The recipient redeems the gift to get access through their own account. Gift purchases are treated the same as any other purchase under these terms, including the cancellation and refund rules in section 7 (so once the gift has been redeemed and the room accessed, the right to cancel no longer applies).
Because our rooms are digital content supplied with instant access, the following applies:
None of this affects your legal rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the rooms must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If a room is faulty or not as described, you are entitled to a remedy - which may include having it put right or a refund - and we will sort that out with you.
Problems caused by your own internet connection, device or network are not faults with the product. If you are playing on a workplace or other managed network, we recommend checking with your administrator before buying that the site and its content are not blocked. If you experience a genuine technical fault on our side, contact us at help@trappedintheweb.com and we will help.
We may also offer a goodwill refund in other circumstances entirely at our discretion; doing so once does not oblige us to do so again.
We offer packages for group, team and corporate play. These may be arranged separately and may be subject to additional or different terms agreed with you in writing at the time of booking. Where there is any conflict, the specific terms of your group booking take precedence over these general terms.
You may use the site and the rooms for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment. You agree not to:
Sharing your screen to play with friends or family (see section 3) is fine. Publishing our content or selling on access is not. We may suspend or close accounts that breach this section.
The site and the rooms - including all content, scripts, puzzles, designs, images, video, text, software and the "Trapped in the Web" brand, logo and trade marks - are owned by or licensed to Coysh Digital Ltd and are protected by intellectual property laws. Buying a room gives you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive right to play it for your own enjoyment. It does not transfer any ownership or other rights to you, and all rights not expressly granted are reserved.
We sometimes feature customer reviews and testimonials on the site. If you send us feedback, suggestions or ideas about the site or the rooms, you agree that we may use them freely, without obligation or payment to you, to improve and promote our products. You confirm that anything you send us is your own and does not infringe anyone else's rights.
We work to keep the site available and running well, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available or uninterrupted. We may need to suspend, withdraw or change parts of the site for maintenance, improvements, or operational or legal reasons. Where a change would significantly affect rooms you have bought, section 4 applies.
We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for breach of your statutory rights as a consumer.
We are not liable for loss or damage that was not foreseeable at the time you bought a room. We supply the rooms for personal, domestic use only, and we are not liable for business losses such as loss of profit, loss of revenue, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.
We process your personal data in line with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, how we use it and your rights. Visiting the site, emailing us and completing forms count as electronic communications, and you agree that we can communicate with you electronically (including by email and through the site) and that this satisfies any legal requirement for communications to be in writing.
These terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the site and the rooms. If we do not enforce a right, that is not a waiver of it. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation; your rights under these terms will not be affected. We are not responsible for failures or delays caused by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms creates a partnership, agency or employment relationship between us.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your home nation. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
If you have a complaint, please contact us first at help@trappedintheweb.com - we will always try to resolve things directly and quickly.
